Risk Management Assessment (RMA)

All coaches (and other volunteers who work directly with the players) are required by Washington State Youth Soccer to undergo a Risk Management Assessment (RMA) prior to coaching any soccer club in the state of Washington.

Recent upgrades to the RMA process have resulted in greater integration between the various systems involved. Although the process has become smoother and easier, returning volunteers will experience a slight learning curve.

Step 1: Register as a coach, assistant coach, or team manager in our club's Sports Connect registration system.

Step 2: Log in to the US Soccer Learning Center and complete two required courses: SafeSport (90 min) & Intro to Safety (30 min)

Step 3: Return to your Sports Connect account and, once your certificates are synchronized, submit your background check application

The pdf linked below contains an incredible amount of detail, including graphics and screenshots to help guide you through the process.
